Aaron Walling, the Southern California Regional Director for the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), is passionate about providing digital skills training to those returning from incarceration. This opportunity creates the potential for people to gain access to higher-paying jobs and career paths in technology. Walling has had more than 3,000 participants enroll in the digital skills training program nationally (363 of in the San Diego area) since launching in April 2022.
Walling, who lives in San Diego, was inspired by his experience growing up in the late 1980s, when his mother put him through exercises to improve his typing skills. With remote work becoming a reality for many and the digital divide only growing, this training intends to provide those returning to society a better chance at economic mobility.
