Honest Jobs is always happy to share stories of formerly incarcerated people who have overcome challenges and turned their lives around.
In today’s blog, we would like to introduce you to Andrew Gibbs-Dabney, the Founder and CEO of Livsn. Gibbs-Dabney made some bad choices due to addiction and faced 40 years to life in prison. He entered rehab and was given a chance at sobriety, serving 6 months in correctional facilities in Arkansas.
After he beat addiction, Gibbs-Dabney went back to university to study organizational management and found a job where he got closer to the outdoors. Today, he runs Livsn, a company that specializes in sustainable outdoor clothing.
“I knew I wanted to be in the outdoor industry,” he said. “I want to spend my time outside, and I want to spend my time around people who want to be outside.”
Even though Gibbs-Dabney has built a successful company, it doesn’t come without challenges to run a business with a criminal record. Read the full interview about his experience here: https://www.outsideonline.com/business-journal/issues/outdoor-business-criminal-record/
